Good Luck Valley is a 2D, narratively-driven, adventure puzzle-platformer in which Anari, a young girl, uses her newfound mushroom power to solve puzzles and find her way back home, discovering the secrets of the Spirit World along the way.

Blurb

It is storming the day Anari learns the news; her mothers illness has become terminal. Under the cover of the rain, Anari runs away from home, hoping to escape the painful emotions she has no words for, but eats her up inside. When the storm clears, she finds herself in a new world: a tall valley filled with mystical forests, spirit critters, and a familiar whisper on the wind. Something about this world feels like it was meant for her.

Setting

The Spirit World is a magical realm sculpted by the will and emotions of its Caretaker. During the events of the game it takes the form of a valley blanketed in a mystical forest, layered with deep caves, and crawling with spirit critters.

Gameplay

Good Luck Valley’s gameplay revolves around a throwable, bouncy mushroom that Anari uses to solve puzzles and traverse the Spirit World. Through exploration, she finds mysterious notes scattered around that might just be her way home.

Aesthetics

Good Luck Valley’s aesthetic is inspired by Spirited Away and Hollow Knight, creating an immersive world with a mystical aura and enchanting soundscape that invites the player to explore. The Spirit World is full of rich flora, cute spirits, and soft lighting; it's a lush, green, and reactive environment that gives the player the feeling of childlike wonder.

HiveMind Studios is an independent game studio based in Rochester, New York with a passion for preserving the art in video games. The team is a group of friends with the same goal in mind: bringing their ideas to life for everyone to experience.
